We are quickly approaching summer, which means relaxing with a book on the beach, by the lake, or in your own backyard. I don’t know about you, but I usually just grab a scrap of paper or an old receipt to use as a bookmark. I came across a really cool Pinterest post on how to fold a piece of paper into a heart-shaped bookmark (http://www.duitang.com/people/mblog/75029015/detail/).
The materials needed for this project couldn’t be easier:
I used some left over scrapbook paper that I had because I liked the pattern, but it turned out to be pretty thick. The end result was cute, but if I do this again I will use a thinner paper.
I started by cutting out a strip of paper that was roughly 4 inches long by 2 inches wide. Then, I folded the paper in half length-wise.
Next, I folded the paper in half again.
Next, I took one side of the paper and folded it up the middle.
Then, the other side and folded it up the middle too.
Next, I flipped it over (pointy side down) and folded the top over just a little.
After that, I folded the four top corners over (this is when I realized the paper was a little too thick).
Finally, I flipped it over and there was the heart!
I added the paper heart to my book and it turned out to be much cuter than an old receipt 🙂
